Review of the Sevylor Inflatable Canoe
Sevylor is a well known manufacturer of inflatable boats and has one very popular inflatable canoe model called the Sevylor Colorado. The Colorado is ideal for slow moving rivers, lakes, ocean fishing, diving as well as for kids, dogs and traveling.
This Sevylor canoe has a lot of great advantages as well as a few disadvantages. Below I will go through the pros and cons of this Sevylor inflatable canoe as well as everything you need to know about this model.
Sevylor Canoe Pros and Cons
Pros: What I love about this canoe is that it is quite versatile and not only can paddle on many types of water but also can be paddled with either canoe or kayak paddles. It also has the option of attaching a small motor which makes it ideal for fishing or longer trips.
It is not extremely long in length but is wide enough to be extremely stable and easily paddled by any person of any age. The Colorado is durable, sturdy and very quick to set up (approximately 5 minutes). It is also light enough (only 32 lbs.) to be brought with you anywhere in the world. This is a great traveling canoe.
It comes with two flexible bucket seats, two directional stakes, a nylon carry bag and of course a repair kit.
Cons: There are two main disadvantages to this inflatable canoe. For one the tracking is not that great even with the two directional stakes. Therefore you will find you have to work just a little bit harder to keep it going in a straight line.
Second, the quality of this Sevylor product is good but not great. There are other models on the market within the same price range that are constructed just a little bit better and have stronger material.
My Opinion of the Sevylor Colorado
With all of that being said, I really like this model and I find the pictures don't really do it justice. To see it in person is to really get an idea as to what a fun self-powered inflatable boat this is.
It is perfect for families and for fishing. The fact that it can be paddled on rivers, lakes or the ocean is fantastic and although it may not be the best performing canoe in the water, it won't give you many problems and with a little care can last a very long time.
There is lots of choice on the market so be sure to read the reviews of other inflatable canoes and compare the specs and prices to be sure which is a right fit for your needs.
